    I am frequently asked to evaluate adults who wish to determine if they have a disability that would qualify them for accommodations in the work place, in the college class room, or on high-stakes testing.

    Trouble with MCAS? Get Help! Get Your Diploma!

    Bridges is partnering with the MCAS Academy at Cape Cod Community College and local high schools to help individuals who still need to pass the MCAS exam(s) to receive their high school diplomas.

    Services are open to members of the high school graduating classes of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. The Academy is offering free instruction in Math and English/Language Arts with individualized learning plans and flexible scheduling at various Cape Cod locations.

    Other services for eligible students will include; college placement testing and advising, job and workplace assessment, career and personal exploration including mentoring and coaching.

    Succeed at Work! A Community Resource for Adults

    Community Support Associates (CSA) provides employment services to job seekers with disabilities. Funding is readily available and services usually begin within days of becoming eligible. Eligibility requires simple documentation of a person's disability. Services available include:

    • Return To Work Services: working with individuals and employers to develop job modifications and strategies
    • Vocational Evaluation: assess interests and abilities, develop vocational goals
    • Job Placement: resumes, interviewing, applications and more
    • Follow-along Services: job coaching, as needed support, employer-employee communication, problem solve work issues

    Nearly 15 years has passed since the first publication of Putting the Puzzle Together -- a groundbreaking collection of first-person stories written by Bridging Out. Bridging Out is our long-running social group for young adults with significant neurodevelopmental disorders.

    The process of creating the book was as unique as the product itself. At the time the concept of "reasonable accommodations" was not widely known..
