Food for Thought: Feed your children
well! This summer you'll find me in produce
aisles and farmers' markets searching for fresh
produce since I didn't plant a garden. I'll be looking
for healthy organic produce which is within my
budget because it is locally grown, in season and on
sale.
Buying organic especially protects children who are
more vulnerable to the effects of pesticides because
of their smaller size, fast metabolisms and less varied
diets. A child's ability to activate, detoxify, and
excrete toxins is different than adults.
Families can also reduce pesticide exposure by rinsing
foods well, peeling foods to remove some toxic
residue, eating a variety of foods, minimizing the use
of pesticides around the house, and being aware of
drinking water purity. High quality daily multivitamins
provide antioxidants which help to neutralize extra
free radicals that may form as a result of
environmental toxins.
Making smart, healthy food choices
will help you and your family feel energized so you
can enjoy these summer days!

Plant a seed of confidence this
summer
When someone is failing at home, school or work and
there are no apparent solutions, I always ask the
question: "Describe - draw - dream about your
ideal
learning environment." I am always amazed and
gratified when the best solutions emerge from the
person who is failing.
