4. Growing GRIT Program
Growing GRIT (Growing Resilience Individually and Together) is a program to help youth ages 9-14 and the adults in their world grow grit, or develop perseverance. This safe and fun learning environment delivers opportunity, education, experiential practice, coaching and relational groups. The overarching goal of the program is to be a catalyst for creation of a safe, productive and healthy youth community on Cape Cod.
Growing GRIT focuses on helping participants learn and practice:
- good nutrition
- moving mindfully
- healthy relationships
The program is adaptable, scalable and easily implemented as a weekly or bi-weekly program.
The committee began meeting in October 2014:

- Julie Fraser, mindfulness and yoga teacher and marketing consultant
- John Beach, educational psychologist and special education consultant
- Mary-Jane Beach, family therapy supervisor and TAKE CHARGE! ® developer.
